Volunteers

Our Pack is 100% volunteer led by parents and other family members of scouts in our pack. Parents and grandparents of scouts fill positions such as Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Advancements Chair, Outings Chair, Treasurer, etc. to ensure that the Pack can continue to provide the program to the scouts.

  • Overwhelmed by the leader uniforms and perception that they have a ton more experience with scouts than you?  Our current leaders were just like you – scout parents and family members just wanting to make great memories with their children.  Stepping into leadership allows you that, but with the added benefit of positively impacting your children, their friends, and your community.  BSA offers all the training you’ll need, and they make it easy and flexible.

  • Afraid you will commit and then your scout may not want to or be able to continue participating?  People’s interests and schedules change, it is no problem – just give it a try.

  • Concerned it will require too much time? Most ongoing pack level roles take only 2-3 hours a month in addition to what you’re already doing with your scout, and we have many opportunities for one-time event help, too. Talk to us and/or pick a friend to share the role.

  • Are you already in a role with the pack but wanting to try something new? We will work with you to help you find a replacement if needed.

Our pack has been chugging along 100% parent volunteer-led for over 60 years.  We can do this!

New Volunteers

As our scouts grow and change, so does our need for volunteers!  We have several hugely helpful families with scouts who will be crossing over to Boy Scouts in less than a year, and they’ll leave behind vacancies in vital pack positions such as Cubmaster, Treasurer, and Outings Coordinator, to name a few.  It’s time for a new generation of scout families to take the reins of Pack 136!

The descriptions of all volunteer positions can be found HERE.

Want to help but don't know which role best suits you?

Den Leaders are the backbone of our pack, but these pack level roles are what make Pack 136 unique and fun!
