Veterans Day Parade (Nov 11)

Each Veterans Day, Pack 136 proudly joins our American Legion partners to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Together, we take time to express our gratitude, reflect on the meaning of service and sacrifice, and show our Scouts what it means to be part of a community that remembers.

Marching in the Veterans Day Parade is a meaningful tradition for our Pack. It's an opportunity for Scouts to represent Cub Scouting with pride, thank our nation's veterans, and participate in one of Franklin's most cherished community events.

We hope you'll join us as we honor those who have served and continue a tradition of respect, patriotism, and service.

2026 Parade Details

Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2026

Time: Parade start time and Pack meet-up location will be shared once the parade organizers release final details.

Location: Downtown Franklin

Dress: Full Class A Uniform

Additional parade instructions will be emailed to participating families before the event.

Details & Reminders

As Veterans Day approaches, Pack leadership will provide final parade instructions, including our exact meeting location and arrival time.

Please plan for:

• Full Class A Uniform (shirt, neckerchief, slide, belt if you have one, and hat encouraged)

• Comfortable closed-toe shoes suitable for walking the parade route

• Weather-appropriate layers, as November mornings can be chilly

• Water bottle

• Optional small American flag to carry during the parade (no poles with sharp tips)

Scouts are also welcome to bring a small handmade "Thank You, Veterans!" sign to carry during the parade.

What to Expect

Our Pack will gather before the parade to organize Scouts and families before lining up with the American Legion.

During the parade, Scouts will:

• March together as a Pack

• Represent Cub Scouting in our community

• Honor local veterans and active military members

• Thank spectators and veterans along the parade route

• Learn the importance of patriotism, citizenship, and service

This is a wonderful opportunity for Scouts to experience firsthand what it means to give back to their community.

Parade Etiquette

To help Pack 136 make a great impression, Scouts are encouraged to:

• Stay with the Pack throughout the parade

• Be courteous to fellow participants and spectators

• Wave, smile, and greet veterans

• Follow directions from Pack leaders

• Help demonstrate the Scout Oath and Scout Law through their actions

Please note that Scouts should not throw candy or handouts unless specifically authorized by parade organizers.

Photos & Memories

Pack photographers will be capturing photos throughout the event, so be sure to wear your biggest smile! We love sharing these moments as we celebrate our Scouts and honor the veterans in our community.
